AdSense websites are typically websites you set up with keyword-rich content and strategically placed AdSense ads. Though you aren’t allowed to actively encourage people to click on the ads as that will get your account closed, when people do click on the ads of their own accord you earn money for each click. And they don’t even have to buy a product, although the owner of the AdSense ad hopes they will. You get paid when visitors click, it’s a pretty simple process.

Typically the website is set up and usually not manually maintained, meaning you don’t keep adding content. There are ways to keep content coming with the addition of plugins that pull in news feeds, directory articles, eBay auctions, Amazon product reviews and so on. Each of these serve a different purpose and should be investigated as to their effectiveness and reliability.

Sometimes websites made for AdSense get a bad name because unethical marketers use content they’ve “scraped” illegally from other legitimate sites. But if you do it the right way by adding content you have legal permission to use you won’t have to worry about your websites getting banned by Google.

Your income from one or two websites probably won’t be enough to pay the bills so you might need to have a lot of websites going before you see a decent amount coming in. One other thing you need is a lot of traffic. If people don’t come to visit your website, they certainly can’t click on your AdSense ads.

Another way you can make money from ads on a website is by offering ad placements on your website for a fee. Before you do this though, be sure to build up your website with good quality content and use tactics such as article marketing and backlinking to help build up your traffic. The more traffic you get the more you can charge for an ad. If you have high traffic numbers the company placing the ad will be willing to pay more for it because the exposure to viewers, and possible sales, will be higher.

You can also check out some of the other blogs and websites to see how they have things set up. Pay close attention to how and where they place the AdSense ads. By taking note of what they’re doing you should be able to replicate a similar layout on your own websites. And remember, the more websites you set up the more money you will earn.
