What are good alternatives to Google Adsense? Which sites pay by view?

January 18th, 2013 1 comment

I’m looking to add some ads to my website and would like to add some that are pay by view. What are the best option?

Google Adsense is a Pay Per Click (PPC) advert network rather than pay by view. More commonly you will see people referring to pay per view as Cost Per Mille (CPM) adverts.

The most widely used alternatives to Google Adsense include: Infolinks, Kontera, Chitika and Adbrite.

What can I do with a domain name waiting to be transferred to drive traffic to my site in the future?

January 2nd, 2013 3 comments

I have a domain name registered with Dreamhost. I am currently waiting for it to become available for transfer (60days) so I can transfer it to GoDaddy. I’m planning on starting a blog and earning a little money from Google AdSense. What can I do to get people to recognize my blog name and prepare it for the release date?

Start writing content that optimizes the search engines by using not too competitive keywords.

What is your open ion about google adsense?

I want to make money by adding a google AdSense? Is this a scam or not? and can i add this before register my website or after? and will i remain a space for this or that will automatically fix on my website?
Is that like this "if enyone will click that and i will recieve payment" and is there any investment first, in that?
How much they will pay me for once click?

Google Adsense is not a scam. It’s a genuine and proven advertising application.

If you have google ads on your website or blog, every time someone clicks on the advertisements, you receive a payment that was preset.

You will need to setup and launch your website before you can register with google. They will vet your website to see if its genuine, and not against their terms and conditions ( they don’t accept porn, gambling, etc).

Google ads is absolutely free btw, you don’t need to pay them, just need a good website.

And yes you will need to leave a space on your website where you want the ads to appear. You can find the space and layout requirements here : https://www.google.com/adsense/static/en_GB/AdFormats.html

Btw, you need to be very careful with what you are doing. Adsense is a great tool for making money from your website, only if people are visiting it and clicking on your ads. You cannot ask your friends to click on your ads, or do it yourself. You will get banned.

Most of the time, people just use it generate some extra income from their site, or just cover the website costs ( hosting, maintenance). You need thousands of people visiting your site per day to make a decent income.

How much you will earn per click depends on the contents of your website, anything from $0.01 to $1+ per click.

good luck with that

What kind of articles or content should i write so that my blog becomes very famous?

December 23rd, 2012 7 comments

I want to start a new blog for commercial purpose. My sole aim is to earn money through google adsense programme. But for that i need to have a popular blog first. I am good at writting but not able to decide what to write. Can u give me some examples of topics which are popular and readers would love to read that?

People flock to blogs or web sites if these have content that are useful to them and or have edutainment/infotainment values.

In particular, topics that help solve problems – personal, technical, anything, or topics that help people make money should drive traffic to your site.

When do you think a blog is ready for requesting Google AdSense?

December 14th, 2012 3 comments

Hello,
I have a blog and I want to request Google AdSense, however I need to know when do you think a blog is ready for requesting Google AdSense ?

Is there any requirements that the bog must have before requesting ?

Thanks

You can put Adsense on your site from Day #1 if you wish but I suggest you do not. Get some content up there first – all your pages (About Me/Contact etc.) also don’t forget a Privacy Policy page which is an absolute requirement for Adsense – basically telling people how their clicks are tracked etc. You can find generic Privacy Policy pages on the web and I’m pretty sure Adsense wiill give you one too.

Also get at least a dozen good content blog posts up there and get a few backlinks – basic Search Engine Marketing basically. Ask some friends to ‘Tweet’ ‘Stumble’ and/or ‘Digg’ your posts to maybe get some traffic and readers.

My personal theory is that just because Adsense allows you 3 ad blocks per page/post + link blocks DO NOT USE THEM ALL! Google knows when your site is covered with Adsense and I reckon you get marked down in the rankings if you don’t get a lot of traffic. They tread a fine line of wanting the Ad revenue and discouraging auto-bloggers. Bad Auto bloggers invariably cover every square inch of their pages with ads! For example putting Adsense on a Privacy Policy page is just plain stupid!

I like a text block after my introductory text and another in the sidebar. Maybe a Link block at the end of the article/post. If I’m chasing an affiliate sale in a post I won’t use Adsense at all on that page. Why lose a reader for 20 cents when I might get $20 for a sale?

Don’t forget to blend the colors of your Adsense ads to blend in with your site – if your blog’s regular navigation links are, say, #CC6600 make sure your Adsense links are that color too.

How do you use google adsense on your youtube videos?

December 12th, 2012 1 comment

Basically i have a google adsense account and it is apparently linked to my youtube. Unfortunately, i have got no clue how to get it to earn money from them or to put ads on anything. What is all this about ad ‘chanels’? How do i put my youtube account on there?
O.k thanks, but what is all this about the channels?

Google automatically adds the ads to your videos. If people actually stay through the ad to actually watch you, you should get money.

What is the best way to earn money through advertising on my web site?

November 30th, 2012 1 comment

I run a website which gets several million hits per month. It was recently feautured on 60 minuts, and is often in the media, so we have a high volume of visitors. I currently use google adsense, which picks what ads show up, and most often, thery’re no very related to what people would visit the site for. That being siad, google is only earning me about $10 a day, when I’m told I could be making hundreds or even thousands give the amount of trafic. How to I go about putting ads on my site that I choose, and maximize how much money I can get?

I took a look at your website and I can understand why Google Adsense is not working for you. The types of visitors you attract is not in the mood to buy anything, they are not using your site as a mere jump-off point — your site is THE destination. Hence, the visitors are not interested in clicking on your ads. Sites like yours do poorly with Adsense. You may want to read the article "Contextual Advertising: Why Are You Earning Only Pennies?" http://www.powerhomebiz.com/022006/adsense.htm which I think perfectly captures your predicament.

A CPM campaign would work better for you given the type of website you have and the traffic you get. I suggest you read the article "How to Generate Advertising Revenues for Your Web Site" http://www.powerhomebiz.com/vol28/adrevenues.htm – you can join banner ad networks and select the campaigns offered for CPM (though some does not allow you to select the campaigns). Here are some of the banner ad networks:

Fastclick http://www.fastclick.com
Tribal Fusion http://www.tribalfusion.com

If I have Google Adsense on youtube, what kind of videos am I able to put out and not able to put out if?

November 28th, 2012 2 comments

I want to make money with Google Adsense.

For example, my friend told me that he can’t make money using Google Adsense on his youtube account because the videos that he made uses other people’s songs…

If that’s the case, will I be unable to use Google Adsense on my youtube account if I create videos of me singing the songs of other artists?

In order to generate revenue from your Youtube videos, you need to first become an official Youtube partner.

The partner program has a strict application process. In order to become a partner, your videos will be reviewed by the Youtube staff to see if they meet certain criteria such as having:
– Quality
– Originality
– Creativity

You must have a noteworthy audience before you can be accepted into the program. If you have less than 1,000 views on average, you need not apply.

In addition, there are very strict rules in place for Partners regarding copyright infringement. If you were to ever use (or use parts of) a commercial song without permission, there would be serious consequences (possibly permanent account termination). This does not apply just to songs, it applies to any copyright material / published works such as graphics, photos, sound effects, etc.

What companies pay to advertise on your website? Is Google AdSense worth using?

November 24th, 2012 4 comments

I have a semi-profitable website/store. It gets a decent amount of traffic and I’d like to make some money advertising.
I see Google’s Adsense program and am going to give that a try. Has anyone had any luck making money with Google? Are there other similar programs by other companies?
I don’t want to waste my time or gunk up my site with things that are not profitable.
Thanks!!

How much money do you make from Google Adsense?

November 22nd, 2012 6 comments

I’m considering puting Google Adsense on my Blog. How much money are we talking? per viewer i suppose or however you would like to explain it. Thanks!

Some sites do very well with Adsense (even in the millions of dollars a year) while many more sites do extremely poorly with the program (can’t even earn $10 a month). I know of several publishers who earn upwards of $30,000 a month, and several others who earn $15,000 a month

One of the misconception people have about Adsense is they simply slap it in their websites and it will automatically earn them big money — which is not true as evidenced by the many disgruntled webmasters

Your income will depend on:

– the topic of your site (if you have high paying keywords you stand to earn more)
– responsiveness of users to ad (are visitors coming to your site with blinders in their eye or do they look at the ads as additional complementary resource)
– traffic (you earn more with more traffic, even if you have low paying keywords or other metrics)
– how you implement the ads on your site (some positions and colors work better than others)

I suggest you join the program (you’ve got nothing to lose as it is free) and see how your site will do with it. I’ve been with Adsense since June 2003 and it’s been a GREAT income generating program for us. So for me, Adsense is definitely worth it
