My blog, http://lazy-arse.blogspot.com (lazy-a r s e, google sensors the word) is running adsense, but all of the ads are irrelevant to the subject, Arsenal Football Club.
I know that google does have related ads, because on the BlogCatalog page for my site, http://www.blogcatalog.com/blogs/lazy-arse.com (once again, the **** mean a r s e without the spaces) the ads are all about Arsenal.
I’m not getting a good click-through rate because my ads are unrelated… how can I fix this?
In AdSense, you can paste a snippet of HTML code around a particular area that you consider to be the most relevant.
There are lots of ways for adsense to be getting ads based off of your content, unfortunately, that also comes into play from what keywords people are bidding on through adwords.
The workaround is that you place this snippet of code:
These tags will mark the beginning and end of whichever section(s) you’d like to emphasize or de-emphasize for ad targeting.
The HTML tags to emphasize a page section take the following format:

<!– google_ad_section_end –>
You can also designate sections you’d like to have ignored by adding a (weight=ignore) to the starting tag:

With these tags added to your HTML code, your final code may look like the following:

With this code, you can either highlight or tell google to ignore certain areas of your blog. Remember, you’ll need to have a good amount of content highlighted to get the best ads.. but I think this will work for you.
