Can Blogger be a good place to post a webcomic?

February 11th, 2013 1 comment

I’m just having this crazy idea, I’m planning to post comic pages or strips on Blogger, since its generating revenue from Google Adsense, I might profit from this, hehe (me gloating like an alien Ferengi). Will this idea work?

Yeah with considerable effort and work. It will take awhile to get the word out about your site. It’s something that takes a lot of time if you want to make money at it. Read all you can about advertising your site. Then when you are done reading, read some more.

what are alternatives to google ads, adbrite and adgirdwork?

I’m looking for other places that offering advertising to post on your web page. I hate the ads google places on my site. Is there anything better out there that I just don’t know about. My budget is honestly 0$ right now as I just started up so I need something free like google ads and adgridwork.

You can place clickbank related contextual adds on your site. You may wish to do a little more as I have done on my site and add a whole store but this requires signing up for a pro account (something for the future maybe).

You can join by going direct to: http://www.cbproads.com/refer.asp?id=39324 or you can check my site in the source bellow by following the tab marked AC-CBstore to preview it. Access from site can be obtained from the the banner under sponsored ads.

As you can see this is another way to monetize your site/blog other than google adsense…..good luck! 🙂

December 16th, 2012 1 comment

I’m having problems with Google Adsense. Its Google’s advertising program. There program lets you display adds on your site so you can earn money by pay per click. There program searches your site then displays ads relational to your content. The problem is that its to close to my content. I would like a advertising program where I can choose keywords and the ads will show up accordingly. I want a advertising program where I control the ads. HELP !

With Google Adsense there is an option to select what sort of advertisement you want to display on your site.

Just go to your control panel Add setting.

The google would the best shot to earn more money as it gets more visitors and payout is much higher than anywhere else.

How can a website that does not sell a product, make money?

December 14th, 2012 4 comments

I wanted to start a blog/ informational site. I was curious as to how something like this could make money. I understand Google Adsense is one way.

Can you use Adsense with other banner programs?
Will search engine optimization bring in any direct money?
If I am not selling anything, is the only way to make money through advertising?

You can make money through PPC ads (Google Adsense is the most popular, but there are other options) or by selling other people’s products via affiliate links. So, if your website is just music reviews, you could post links to Amazon, iTunes, etc., to the relevant albums and you would get a rip anytime someone bought something using your link.

What is the percentage Google revenue come from Advertising and what percentage of other revenue? I think most of its reveune come from advertisng but what percentage and what all the other percent come from other source such as search? If you know a link please provide thanks.

Revenues – Google reported revenues of $4.83 billion for the quarter ended December 31, 2007, representing a 51% increase over fourth quarter 2006 revenues of $3.21 billion and a 14% increase over third quarter 2007 revenues of $4.23 billion. Google reports its revenues, consistent with GAAP, on a gross basis without deducting TAC.

Paid Clicks – Aggregate paid clicks, which include clicks related to ads served on Google sites and the sites of our AdSense partners, increased approximately 30% over the fourth quarter of 2006 and approximately 9% over the third quarter of 2007.

Google Sites Revenues – Google-owned sites generated revenues of $3.12 billion, or 65% of total revenues, in the fourth quarter of 2007. This represents a 58% increase over fourth quarter 2006 revenues of $1.98 billion and a 14% increase over third quarter 2007 revenues of $2.73 billion.

Google Network Revenues – Google’s partner sites generated revenues, through AdSense programs, of $1.64 billion, or 34% of total revenues, in the fourth quarter of 2007. This represents a 37% increase over network revenues of $1.20 billion generated in the fourth quarter of 2006 and a 12% increase over third quarter 2007 revenues of $1.45 billion.

International Revenues – Revenues from outside of the United States totaled $2.32 billion, representing 48% of total revenues in the fourth quarter of 2007, compared to 44% in the fourth quarter of 2006 and 48% in the third quarter of 2007. Had foreign exchange rates remained constant from the third quarter of 2007 through the fourth quarter of 2007, our revenues in the fourth quarter of 2007 would have been $94 million lower. Had foreign exchange rates remained constant from the fourth quarter of 2006 through the fourth quarter of 2007, our revenues in the fourth quarter of 2007 would have been $195 million lower.

While using Google AdSense on my blog, is it possible to choose what adverts will show on my advertising space?

November 10th, 2012 2 comments

While using Google AdSense on my blog, is it possible to choose what adverts will show on my advertising space? My blog is about healthy weight loss without the use of weight loss pills and I don’t want adverts about weight loss pills on my webpage. I really want to use Google AdSense but how do I go about choosing what adverts will show up?

This is a very good question. You have a certain amount of control in Google’s AdSense on what ads will show up on your site or blog.

The first thing you can do is blocking certain websites from your blog or site.

For doing that you must go to the “Allow and block ads” section on the top of your AdSense page and there you can stipulate which advertisers you want to block. You need to type in the URL of the advertisers’ sites.

That will not solve the entire problem for you, because now you have to look actively for these sites and that can be a tedious work to say the least, especially in such a highly competitive market as weight loss. But eventually it will work for you.

The second thing you can do is to block certain sensitive categories. Weight loss is one of these sensitive categories.

But I think you do not want to block all ads for weight loss, only those with weight loss pills in them.

But you may want to block the sensitive category “Medicines and food supplements”. That may cause some effects as some of these advertisers will be categorized within this sensitive category.

The third thing you can do is blocking some advertisers networks. If you know that some of these networks have a large clientele in the ads you want to block you can do that in this section on your AdSense page.

The fourth thing you can do of course is looking once again at your blog if you don’t use the words you want to exclude within your copywriting.

This can evoke some debate as you probably have stressed throughout your blog that you DO NOT use or advice diet pills. But this negative connotation will not be noticed by Google.

The keyword diet pills is on your blog whether you advice against it. So better is to get rid of these words on your blog.

But before you take any drastic steps. Why not try the following option?
If you are clear about advising against diet pills on your blog, maybe there is no harm in letting these AdSense ads with diet pills appear on your blog.

People will not hold it against you and besides, some of your blog visitors will be attracted to them.

Moreover, Google thinks these ads make the best conversions, otherwise they would not show them. Another point is that these ads probably bring you the most money as they will get you the highest pay outs per click (otherwise Google will not show them on your blog).

Marketing is all about giving your audience a choice. If you make a sound statement why NOT to use diet pills in weight loss and you have other solutions to offer you will attract the right customers or readers.

Those who think otherwise may click on your ads with pills. Why not? But of course , it is all up to you.
