Is youtube monetisation completely different to google adsense?

I have just monetised some videos (this means I get money when adverts are displayed and clicked on via my videos). Is this completely separate to google adsense or is it the same thing?

It’s linked to Adsense. That’s where you can see your earnings.

    Hello!
    Google AdSense and monetization is the same. That ads when you monetize your videos are operated by Google AdSense.
