How come I get clicks on ads but see no profits?

I’ve had google adsense since this past Monday 8/22/11 and I have gotten a decent amount of clicks on ads for my blog but I have not seen a profit. Why is this?

It could be that:

1 – Google is delayed in tracking your clicks. It rarely happens, but sometimes it does. When Adsense catches up, you’ll get what is called a "click dump" where everything just increases all of a sudden

2 – If these clicks happened several days ago, it means that G may be looking at them as invalid clicks. Invalid clicks happen when you click on the ads yourself, G has detected patterns of fraud (e.g. you yourself didn’t click but friends may be "helping" you by clicking on the ads). G has very advanced way of determining the validity of clicks. Adsense has been around since 2003, and they’ve seen all the tricks of publishers trying to cheat the system

If it is #2, then be thankful that G is just not counting your clicks. Because Adsense could very much kick you out, and you’d be one of those crying in the Disabled Accounts section of the Adsense Help Forum http://www.google.com/support/forum/p/AdSense/label?lid=215fb2e4b67e2667&hl=en
